Jessica Abner
Originally from Orlando,FL, Jessica has always had a passion for fitness and movement. In 2009 while living on the Big Island of Hawaii endurance sports became a big part of her life and she started competing in triathlons and other running races. As the injuries kept appearing it was obvious that something need to be added to her routine to help maintain a healthy physical body. When first turning to yoga it was strictly for the flexibility aspect of the workout but the changes started to happen both physical and emotional levels, increasing the desire to actually embrace a relationship with yoga on a deeper more personal level.
The style that really made that connection is Hot Buddhi Yoga, a kundalini inspired yoga practice which incorporates asana and dance, the perfect marriage of fitness and yoga. Jessica studied 200 hours with Jennifer Liming E-RYT of Kailua Kona in 2012.
Jessica brings her strong fitness background into her yoga practice, challenging her students to be inspired and get empowered by trying what they think is impossible, incorporating long asana holds which encourage finding the stillness of the mind in the present moment and creative flows and hip movements that allow us to let go of things holding us back in our movements and therefore in life, for what is life without movement?
